I read, baked, wrote, played my guitar, and took my new bicycle out for an amazing ride. We went down to Cherry Creek, then downtown, then back through the first neighborhood in Denver I lived in, and finally through Wash Park on my way home. It was absolutely magical. I was in absolutely no rush, and the bike is so comfortable that I just cruised around with a huge grin on my face (I had to pick the bugs out of my teeth when I got home.) But just because things always have to be kept interesting, when I pulled up to my building, I heard air leaking. I looked down, and sure enough, I had a screw puncturing my tire. There is still a lot of snow packed on the roads and paths, and it must have been hiding in some waiting for me to run over it. Ha. But, 20 minutes later I was in and out of the bike shop with a new tube and a tire good as new-- not before the mechanic gave me a hard time, though :).
I enjoyed spending the evening with two of my closest friends, listening to how they have grown and giggling with excitement and anticipation for what this year will bring.
It was a good, good day.
