Lots of Spaghetti

Friday, we took our class along with the four other 2nd/3rd grade classes downtown for a field trip. We went to LoDo for a walking tour given by the Denver Historical Society (because we've been studying Denver history) then followed that with lunch at the Spaghetti Factory. We were 178 people strong--including parent volunteers.

For those that know me well, you know that I do not enjoy large groups. At all. I am definitely an outgoing person that loves working with young people, but large groups overwhelm me. This trip was a definite challenge. One little boy got mad at me and tried to shove me in the street, but that was the worst of it. Most of the kids were really well behaved; though they were fascinated with picking as much litter off of the streets as they could. Scrumptious!

It continues to amaze me how much energy it takes to do this. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. I totally love it, but will be SO glad to be done :).

By the way, did you see Jeremy Abbott's performance?!! Oh my goodness, I was seriously welling up as he finished--what an accomplishment!
